Everyone, please meet Stella! A funny and loving 3-year-old Boston Terrier/ Corgi mix that is looking for her leader and a place to call home!

She loves other dogs, but also just wants to hang out with them rather than play. She has not been exposed to cats but her foster believes she wouldn’t do well with them unless they are very relaxed and respect her personal space. We recommend Stella is paired with other pets that are very low energy and even-tempered as she tends to mirror the energy of those she’s around. An older dog that she can follow around and model their behavior would be ideal. She is definitely more of a follower than a leader.

She enjoys the company of people and is very welcoming of new visitors however her boundaries should be discussed with new friends. Stella has some sensitivity issues with her facial and neck region, she can be a bit mouthy (not in an aggressive manner) when that area is touched. She has made progress in desensitization and we encourage her adopters to continue working on it with her.  However, for the comfort and safety of guests, we would recommend having their hands away from that area of her body.

We don’t know her past, but from what we can tell she has gone through some trauma…physical and mental. Stella would thrive in an environment with a patient owner that will continue to work on her manners and obedience. We don’t believe she is ready for a home with young children however she would do well with older children who have a strong sense of boundaries and self-awareness.

Stella is fully vetted and spayed. She had luxating patella surgery on her right knee and could potentially require surgery on her left knee in the next year. The rescue will cover all costs. For that reason, she requires routined leash walks just to keep her legs moving as well as establish a stable routine!

Stella has lived in a foster home where she has learned to be part of the pack all while being cared for with cooked meals, a fenced-in yard, and daily leashed walks. Her foster mom will continue to be a continued resource in helping to navigate all things Stella.  She is fostered near Charlotte, NC, and would love to schedule a meet and greet with you and your dog(s)!

Stella would love a supportive home that will continue her journey of discipline and dedication. She is eager to learn and will be the "GOODEST" girl just as long as you are willing to give her a chance. Can you be the home she needs?
