This little fella is Eli, a 25 pound Boston, Pug, Brussels Griffon mix and he is in need of a home.  He is an energetic boy who is neutered, chipped, heartworm free and housebroken. He loves his walks and is a big fan of chasing squirrels! He has been known to enjoy friendly, affectionate dogs and once leashed, great about potty breaks. He is a couch snuggler and rides wonderfully in the car.

We don’t know Eli’s story before he came to BTRTOC but, we do know that he struggles with aggression issues. A consulted trainer categorizes him as "mildly aggressive" and feels that he would be best in a home where his person/people will be able to work with a trainer and also continue education beyond the sessions.  He is a vocal boy and will grumble and growl. His foster mom calls it his love language and says that she has been able to learn his positive and negative sounds in the 3 months that he has been with her. Eli is a known biter and needs to be in a home without another alpha dog or children; BTRTOC will raise funds for training with a local, approved trainer including regular follow up sessions as needed.

We believe that Eli deserves a chance at being the good boy we know he can be, but it is going to take work and commitment with the right family. While he has made progress, he has needs that require time, patience and training. He is not a dog that would thrive in social situations so if you have a busy home, he would not do well. He does not like to be picked up or harnessed and when he is startled or stressed by sudden movements, he has bitten. We are aware that this is a big ask…and that his person and environment would be one without small children, rambunctious routines and (possibly) a calm and kind fur friend. We are simply trying to give him a chance to continue to heal and manage his currently unpredictable behavior. We are hoping that Eli’s person is out there and that he can find a forever home. If you would like to know more about Eli and think you might be able to help us help him, please reach out to us.
